Alice: Penguins Claim Island

Complete each of the following in sequence. The amount you can complete determines the level you receive for the project. If you are unable to complete the project in sequence, you can attempt components from a higher level.

Step 1:

Create the initial scene. Use a water world, one island, 2 boats, and 2 penguins. Place one penguin in each boat and ensure the boat and penguins are facing the island.

Step 2:

Click on one boat and it moves to the island and the penguin moves from the boat onto the island. Click on the second boat and that boat moves to the island and the penguin moves from the boat onto the island. NOTE: the oars DO NOT need to move (row).

Step 3:

Clicking on the island moves boat(s) to the island and the penguin(s) to move onto the island. If both boats have not yet moved, both boats move. If only one boat has already moved to the island then the remaining boat moves. If both boats are already at the island, nothing happens. Again, the oars do not need to move.

Step 4:

Claiming the island for penguins everywhere. Click on the tree on the island. If there are no penguins on the island, nothing happens. If there is one penguin on the island, it moves to the top of the tree and says “I claim this island for Penguins everywhere!”. If both penguins are on the island, randomly choose one penguin to move to the top of the tree and say “I claim this island for Penguins everywhere!”.

Modifications:

• prompt the user to give the penguins names

• include these names in the proclamations.
